In the tenet trailer they were using mis-en-scene to intrigue the reader to whats going on.
Like when they crashed the plane they wouldn't off crashed into a hay bale.
editing:
The trailer was using different cuts in the clips to create to the film a common cut is the jump cut. to come to conclusion on a scene.
soundtrack:
It sounds mystical but then i starts to get deeper and faster as more serious scary scenes come on it drops in pitch.
In the Dune trailer, (mis-en-scence) is used effectively to create a background and a location for the trailer that suits what they are filming for the best, for example this can be seen when there was a lady in black holding the guy hostage, when he had his hand in the box the lady was holding a needle up to his neck threatening him and if he didn't let go she would stab him. The director uses this to create suspense for the viewers to see. For example in one scene you can see a long shot of them running away from the sand even know the camera is far away you can still see in there facial expressions you can see that they are not smiling in fact they look more terrified and scared. This long shot emphasis there body actions and the scene going on behind him them and it emphasis there emotions; there is fear and gut sickness int there face and body expression and they look desperate to get away from what ever they are scared from or what they are trying to escape. This can highlight there emotions to the viewers and makes the audience wonder what they are going to do next.
He was also using a technique called a soundtrack to also create suspense for the viewers, when it got to a darker scene he would make it a lower and slower pitch to set the mood and he did the same for the more bright and scenic shots of the films to intrigue the reader this can be shown when they are trying to escape from the sandstorm on the beach.
Mise-en-scene: you can obviously see that he is some sort of surfer by his clothes y the fact he is wearing a wetsuit and his a surfboard next to him but the reason he has picked this colour and location is because in the trailer he talks about the risks of doing this and that he has to focus because he doesn't want to think about loosing his family and the colour red could imply some sort of danger and they mad it an extreme lonshot from above to try and give off some sort of impression that he is lost and is putting himself through many risks to try and find what he's looking for.
soundtrack: in this trailer they were using very intense scary music to give off an impression of seriousness toward the scenes. they could be using this to get the readers an impression of intensity towards what he was doing in the scene. Another example is in the trailer it introdiuced more slow music to show that what he was doing is dangerous.
editing: they were using dramatic and short cuts which were fast to give the impressions of seriousness.this can be shown throughout the trailer when his is surfing on big and heavy waves. there was also many slow and intense scenes for example was like when he was riding a massive wave and he fell and they slowed it down and introduces more tense soundracks this then faded into a new scene also known as a fade. There are also many jump cuts in the trailer this can be show in more calm scences and fast paced scencess.
